Remaining In Christ
Today Jesus uses the parable of the Vine and the Branches to help us understand the kind of relationship he wants with us. It's more than simply remaining
him, it's remaining
him. For branches on a vine to bear any kind of fruit, they have to draw their nourishment and strength from the vine which gives them life. As Jesus says, he is that source of life; he is the vine and we are the branches. (Watch today's gospel come alive in this scene from the movie
The Gospel of John
The way we remain in Christ is to stay connected to the Church where Christ is present, especially in the Eucharist. So whether we gather today on-line or in person, we join our hearts in prayer through Him, with Him and in Him.

Our patron, Saint Hubert, had a heart for the hungry prisoners being deprived of food. He would sneak them bread at night as an act of mercy and compassion. It's a charism that is a mark of our own generous and compassionate parish.

Many times it's hard to look at a grape vine and know where the individual branches begin or end; they're all interwoven, and yet they all emerge from the vine, the source of its life. It's a nice way to think of a parish community. Our individual families and lives come together Sunday after Sunday, anchored to Christ who keeps us connected.
May the peace of Christ remain in you always,

We Can't Do It Without You!
Our greeters are now welcoming 150 parishioners to each Mass, and doing it with a smile (even with masks on!). Saint Paul once said "God loves a cheerful giver" and so that means our Greeters must be very loved! We're grateful to the 20+ parishioners who help make each Mass a reality week after week.
