Celebrating Christ's Presence
Today the Catholic Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body & Blood of Christ, known in the tradition as Corpus Christi. What we celebrate is Jesus' true and real presence in our lives through the gift of the Eucharist. We
celebrate the nearness of God.
Whether we gather in person today, or on-line, we gather with the desire for Communion with Christ, the one who strengthens us, nourishes us, satisfies our thirst and hunger for meaning, and brings us together to unite us through his presence.
Anticipating Phase 5!
This Friday the State of Illinois enters into Phase 5 of the recovery plan. We are eagerly awaiting the directives from the Archdiocese of Chicago and will send out a special Flocknote announcement this week as soon as we know more.
Thank you to everyone for helping us follow the protocols in place that got us through thus far and kept us as safe as we could. It hasn't been easy, and it's taken a lot of adjustment. So know how grateful we are to everyone. We're looking forward to celebrating and welcoming home those who haven't been able to attend Mass with us in awhile--either because of our limited seating or because of the concerns of safety and health. We'll keep you posted.
The Choir Sings a Joyful Song!
We're blessed to have the choir back.
Enjoy this joyful Alleluia selection that closes this week's liturgy and the end to the "Trifecta of our Faith": Pentecost, The Holy Trinity & Corpus Christi:

Praying For Each Other and With Each Other
We have several ways you can offer prayer for a special need:
Our Prayer Wall
is a way to post a prayer and ask others to pray with you.
If you would like to add a loved one (or even yourself) to our prayer list and/or include them in the petitions during Mass,
If you would like to offer a Mass for someone,
If you simply would like to voice a prayer in a private and confidential way, click here for our
on-line Book of Prayer Intentions
"Have no anxiety at all, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, make your requests known to God." (Phil 4:6)
A Year-End Appeal for Support
Like many organizations, small businesses and families trying to get through these unexpected times, our parish is no different.
As you may have seen in the bulletin, we are falling short of our budgeted offertory goal for the year. If you would like to make a one-time gift to help us balance our budget, our electronic giving platform is
. An alternative is the
Universal Offertory Program
offered through the Archdiocese. (All donations from the Archdiocesan site go directly to the parish.)
There is also a donation box at the church and parishioners also continue to mail in contributions or drop them off at the parish office.
Thank you for the many ways you give and support this parish we love. Working together, we're making it through.
The Corpus Christi Sequence
Only in certain celebrations of the liturgical year do we hear a sequence that sets the stage for the mystery we are about to encounter in the gospel. Our very talented parishioners, Meghan Smeenge and Ralph Joseph, sing the Corpus Christi Sequence we hear at Mass today which leads into the singing of the Alleluia.
Christ With Us
Saint Patrick gave us a beautiful prayer that celebrates Jesus' centrality in our lives. It's a part of what's known as Saint Patrick's breastplate, but is fitting for reflection and prayer on this feast of Corpus Christi:
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise,
Christ in the heart of everyone who thinks of me,
Christ in the mouth of everyone who speaks of me,
Christ in every eye that sees me,
Christ in every ear that hears me.
May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ fill you with his presence and his peace,
